Job summary

United Community Health Center-Maria Auxiliadora, Inc. seeks a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care and assist providers in a primary care setting. The role supports multiple work sites and may require a valid driver’s license and transportation.

Responsibilities include patient prep, phlebotomy, lab testing, documentation, and coordination of referrals. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred; a high school diploma or GED and Medical Assistant certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years experience as a medical assistant in a primary care clinic.
• Phlebotomy and clinical laboratory experience preferred (not applicable to CFMC work site).
• Bi-lingual, English/Spanish is preferred.
• Reliable vehicle and proof of insurance for incumbents assigned to multiple work sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist provider with patients before, during and after visit to maintain smooth patient flow.
• Greet patients and instruct in prompt, courteous manner; prepare patient for examination.
• Perform routine CLIA-waived lab tests and document results.
• Maintain exam rooms and restock supplies; ensure chart references for referrals/tests.
• Communicate with patients and family members; follow up per provider direction.
