Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of verifiable full-time MA experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; completion of Atrium Health competency assessment.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies and procedures.
• Performs rooming and visit tasks including vital signs and reviewing medications.
• Assists provider with procedures and performs lab duties (venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT).
• Administers medications and vaccines following the rights of administration.
• Performs other duties such as scheduling, referrals, insurance authorizations, and patient messaging.
