Job summary

Rural Health Care Inc dba Aza Health in Hawthorne, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time, Monday–Thursday schedule (8:00 am–6:30 pm). You will assist nurses with procedures, perform CLIA-waived laboratory tests, record vital signs, and prepare examination rooms.

You will educate patients, document accurately in the medical record, help collect specimens, and support the Health Disparities Collaborative with data collection and patient education.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a formal medical assisting training program.
• One-year certificate from college or technical school.

Responsibilities

• Assists nurses or providers with procedures and examinations.
• Performs CLIA waived laboratory procedures.
• Records vital signs, weight, height, etc.
• Maintains stock for examining rooms and lab areas.
• Educates patients on health care issues.
• Documents accurately in the medical record.
• Participates in the Health Disparities Collaborative by data collection and education.
• Interviews patients to obtain medical information.
• Guides patients to examination rooms and prepares them for provider.
• Prepares and administers medications as directed by the physician.
• Collects and logs laboratory specimens for testing.
• Explains treatments, medications, diets, and physician instructions.
• Prepares examination rooms and keeps them clean.
