Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking a Medical Assistant to support UVA ambulatory clinics in Virginia. You will work under the supervision of physicians and licensed staff to perform clinical tasks, vital signs, specimen collection, and assist with examinations.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, data collection, chart preparation, and administrative duties such as scheduling and form completion. A high school diploma and BLS are required; MA program completion or active certification

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
• Medical Assistant program completion or enrollment with certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with clinical intake, rooming, and data collection.
• Perform basic laboratory tests, specimen collection, venipuncture, and point-of-care testing.
• Provide clinical support to licensed healthcare professionals during procedures.
• Handle administrative tasks: scheduling, drafting letters, and processing forms.
