Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our Nursing (Technical/Clerical) team in Tampa. The role supports clinical and clerical tasks, including patient rooming, specimen handling, and preparing charts, while assisting with procedures and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.

Proficiency with electronic health record systems and basic life support is required. At least 3 months of healthcare experience is preferred, with a day shift from 7:30 am to 4 pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Certification as CMA, RMA, or MA-ARMA.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• At least 3 months of healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and clerical support including patient rooming.
• Assist with medical procedures and equipment cleaning.
• Prepare charts and obtain referral notes, images, and lab results prior to visits.
• Document accurately in the electronic health record.
• Answer phones, greet patients, file, fax, and scan documents.
