Job summary

Kaiser Permanente seeks a Medical Assistant to support providers and nurses during patient care encounters in a team-based setting. The role includes collecting clinical information, performing point of care testing, preparing exam rooms, assisting with examinations and minor procedures, and documenting care in the electronic medical record.

Additionally, the M.A. administers in-scope immunizations and medications, conducts follow-up care as directed, and helps schedule follow-up appointments

Qualifications

• 1000 hours of back-office experience within 1 year.
• Customer service aptitude demonstrated through assessments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with patients and healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Kaiser Permanente policies and applicable laws.
• Completes patient intake, including vital signs and screenings.
• Identifies care gaps and schedules care gap visits/procedures.
• Prepares consent, school, and work forms for review.
• Maintains exam rooms with supplies and cleanliness.
• Completes point of care testing.
• Administers immunizations and medications within scope and provides VIS.
• Assists practitioners with examinations and minor procedures.
• Documents patient care in the electronic medical record.
• Participates in Unit Based Team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
• May perform other in-scope duties.
