Job summary

Penn Medicine's Lancaster General Health Practice (LGHP Neurology) in Lancaster, PA is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to provide clinical support under a provider's supervision. The role covers pediatric to geriatric patient care, rooming, injections, medication administration, minor procedures, and point-of-care testing.

You'll assist with referrals, care coordination, test tracking, and front-office tasks, while upholding confidentiality and high patient‑experience standards.

Qualifications

• Clinical support to patients across age groups (pediatric to geriatric).
• Administer injections and medications per provider protocol.
• Assist with procedures, minor surgeries and related exams.
• Perform Point of Care Testing and maintain exam rooms.
• Support front-office tasks and patient communications.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for visit using rooming standards.
• Administers injections and provides observations to the clinician.
• Prepares and administers prescribed medications.
• Assists providers with procedures and minor surgeries.
• Performs Point of Care Testing (e.g., flu, strep).
• Removes sutures and changes dressings as needed.
• Provides clinical advice by phone/electronic messaging per triage protocols.
• Authorizes prescription refills as directed by the provider.
• Assists with test tracking and outreach for preventive care.
• Coordinates referrals and transitions of care with teams.
• Supports front-office responsibilities and everyday operations.
• Regional travel may be required for some sites.
