Job summary

Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager (RN, Surgery) to lead and optimize nursing practice and patient care. This full-time role reports to the Senior Director of Perioperative Services and requires strong leadership across regulatory standards and interdisciplinary teamwork.

The position involves 24/7 management, personnel development, and strategic planning within a surgical unit. California RN licensure, BSN, and BLS are required; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• Five (5) or more years of acute hospital experience with progressive clinical leadership experience.
• Current California RN License and BLS certification are required.
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred; membership in a professional organization preferred.
• BSN required; Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication and regulatory compliance skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee 24-hour day-to-day nursing practice and patient care delivery.
• Manage human, fiscal and other resources; drive staffing and scheduling decisions.
• Develop personnel, provide coaching and professional growth opportunities.

In collaboration with the Senior Director of Perioperative Services, the Clinical Nurse Manager has accountability for the 24 hour day-to-day management of clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery, the management of human, fiscal and other resources, the development of personnel, compliance with regulatory and professional standards, unit strategic planning and the fostering of interdisciplinary collaborative relationships within the Department and the organization as a whole.
