Job summary

New Day Recovery in Niles, OH, seeks an experienced master's‑level behavioral health professional to provide clinical leadership within our substance use treatment programs. The role combines staff management with direct clinical involvement to ensure high‑quality, coordinated client care.

Ideal candidates will support employees, strengthen clinical operations, and champion compassionate, evidence‑based treatment while upholding CARF and state requirements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related behavioral health field.
• Active Ohio professional license (LPC/LPCC/LISW or equivalent).
• Management or clinical leadership experience in 24‑hour substance use treatment.
• Experience serving individuals with substance use disorders and co‑occurring conditions.
• Knowledge of clinical documentation, confidentiality, ethics, crisis response, interdisciplinary treatment.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership, support, and accountability for counselors, therapists, and other clinical staff.
• Coordinate staffing, schedules, caseload coverage, clinical priorities, and continuity of care.
• Coach employees on clinical practices, documentation, communication, professional boundaries, and performance expectations.
• Lead clinical staffing meetings, case consultations, and interdisciplinary care coordination.
• Conduct behavioral health and substance use assessments and contribute to treatment planning.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling as needed.
• Support crisis intervention, case management, referrals to appropriate levels of care.
• Monitor the quality, accuracy, timeliness of clinical documentation.
• Promote compliance with policies, payer requirements, confidentiality, ethics, CARF, and OhioMHAS requirements.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, admissions, case management, and operations teams to support coordinated client care.
• Identify opportunities to improve clinical workflows, programming, and the client experience.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, master’s-level behavioral health professional to provide clinical leadership within our substance use treatment programs. This position combines staff management with direct clinical involvement and is ideal for someone who can support employees, strengthen clinical operations, and help ensure high-quality, coordinated client care.

Essential Functions

• Provide day-to-day leadership, support, and accountability for counselors, therapists, and other clinical staff.

• Promote compliance with organizational policies, payer requirements, confidentiality standards, professional ethics, CARF, and OhioMHAS requirements.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, admissions, case management, and operations teams to support coordinated client care.
• Identify opportunities to improve clinical workflows, programming, and the client experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field.
• Active Ohio professional license, such as LPC, LPCC, LISW, or an equivalent qualifying license.
• Management or clinical leadership experience in an inpatient, residential, detoxification, or other 24-hour substance use treatment environment.
• Experience serving individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring behavioral health conditions.
• Knowledge of clinical documentation, confidentiality, ethical practice, crisis response, and interdisciplinary treatment.
• Experience supporting integrated mental health and substance use treatment.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong leadership, judgment, accountability, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Effective assessment, counseling, group facilitation, crisis intervention, and case consultation abilities.
• Ability to address employee performance and clinical concerns directly and professionally.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced treatment environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with electronic health records, Microsoft Office, and related systems.
