Job summary

The US Department of Veterans Affairs seeks an LPN/LVN to join the clinical team across SLVHCS areas including In/Outpatient Mental Health, Primary & Specialty Clinics, Community Living Center and Med Surg. The LPN provides sound nursing techniques and supports infection control while caring for acutely ill and chronic patients.

They perform nursing duties under RN/MD supervision, ensuring safe, quality care and adherence to facility policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• United States Citizenship required; non-citizens may be appointed per VA policy.
• Graduate of an approved practical or vocational nursing program.
• LPN/LVN licensure in a U.S. state/territory/DC, active and unrestricted.
• English language proficiency required for patient care roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide full range of practical nursing care to acute and chronic patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and document patient responses.
• Collaborate with RN/MD to orient/train less experienced staff.
• Identify emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions.
