Qualifications

• Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of two years’ experience as a therapist in a hospital, nursing facility, or related medical setting.
• Must hold current, unrestricted SLP license in this state and GFY/CCC certification from ASHA.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English; strong communication with residents and staff.
• Ability to make independent decisions and supervise therapy services as directed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct Speech Language Pathologist services and programs.
• Meet with administration and medical staff to plan therapy services and resident care plans.
• Develop standards for Speech Language Pathologist services and maintain treatment records.
• Review policies and participate in quality assurance for therapy services.
• Provide guidance and training for new personnel and schedule therapy duties.
• Interview residents to determine treatment types and schedule therapy as ordered.
• Select activities based on medical and social history and coordinate MDS care plans.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain safety in therapy areas.
