Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Lead Pulmonary Function Technician to provide clinical and managerial leadership for the Respiratory Therapy team. You will support a diverse patient population with respiratory disorders, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to drive quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy with 3+ years of experience or Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years in Respiratory Therapy
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Current NBRC-registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license
• Ohio RCP Board licensure
• BLS Certification through AHA or Red Cross
• PALS or NRP completion (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the Respiratory staff as designated by departmental management.
• Monitor daily operations and act as a resource person for staff.
• Assign therapist workload and adjust staffing based on patient volume.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement.
• Provide feedback on staff performance.
• Assist with development and implementation of Respiratory Therapy policies and procedures.
• Act as liaison with multidisciplinary care team; support orientation/training for staff and nursing.
• Perform blood gas puncture and analysis where applicable.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory treatment and care where applicable.

Education

Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy

Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) NBRC

Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board licensure

BLS Certification (AHA or Red Cross)

PALS Certification or NRP completion
