Job summary

U.S. Urology Partners seeks a Clinical Lead to act as the principal clinical and operational leader at the assigned practice locations. You will support the Practice Manager with staff scheduling, onboarding, training, and compliance, while clinical duties remain under licensed supervision. This role can be filled by a CMA, LPN, or RN.

The position emphasizes mentoring clinical staff, coordinating onboarding for urologic procedures, and ensuring consistent patient care standards across locations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Company approved accredited Medical Assistant program or a nurse license.
  • Current CMA or nursing license; BLS certification required.
  • Two years of clinical experience preferred; mentoring/coordination experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all clinical duties including patient prep, vitals, point-of-care testing, procedure assistance, and catheter care as delegated.
  • Manage clinical supplies by ordering and maintaining inventory.
  • Triage phone calls and in-baskets; call patients when needed.
  • Assist with physician scheduling and onboarding of new staff.
  • Administer Provenge and other medications as permitted by certification/licensure; manage refills.
  • Review urine culture results and anesthesia-related cases; facilitate genetic testing.

Position Summary

The Clinical Lead serves as the primary clinical and operational lead for clinical associates within the assigned practice location(s). The Clinical Lead assists the Practice Manager with staff scheduling, onboarding, training, competency development, and compliance documentation, and acts as a role model for clinical excellence and professionalism. All clinical duties remain under the direct supervision and delegation of a licensed healthcare provider. The Clinical Lead can be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), LPN or RN.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Clinical Perform all clinical duties, including patient prep, vitals, point-of-care testing, procedure assistance, and catheter care as delegated.
  • Manage clinical supplies by ordering and keeping inventory.
  • Triage phone calls and all in-baskets, calling patients when needed (if applicable).
  • Assist with physician scheduling as needed.
  • Administer Provenge, other medications, and refills prescriptions as needed (as permitted by certification or licensure).
  • Review all urine culture results, and cases for Anesthesia and facilitate all genetic testing.
Leadership & Staff Development
  • Serve as the primary mentor, trainer, and clinical resource for clinical staff including CMAs, LPN’s, RN’s and others as assigned.
  • Assist the Practice Manager with onboarding and training of newly hired clinical associates on all urologic procedures.
  • Assist working physician in-baskets to answer triage questions as needed along with triaging all in-baskets and calling patients in need of clinical response (if applicable).
  • Work nurse schedule (if applicable).
  • Provide coaching and performance feedback to ensure consistency in clinical workflows and patient care standards.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clinical associates, providers, and practice leadership.
Scheduling & Staffing
  • Collaborate with the Managers to build and maintain clinical schedules to ensure appropriate coverage across providers and locations.
  • Coordinate PTO requests and coverage for absences through the established approval workflow.
  • Monitor staffing needs, flag coverage gaps, and recommend solutions to the Practice Manager.
  • Manage staff calendar daily; set assignments for each clinical staff member (if applicable).
  • Schedules all Hydrogel and Marker patients
Regulatory & Compliance
  • Maintain required clinical and regulatory logs, including temperature monitoring, sterilization records, OSHA/infection control documentation, and QC records for point-of-care testing.
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, CLIA, and practice policy.
  • Assist in preparation for audits, inspections, and accreditation reviews.
Administrative
  • Perform Clinical Lead-level administrative duties, including scheduling, insurance verification, EMR documentation, and prior authorizations, as needed.
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Company approved accredited Medical Assistant program or a nurse license. Current Certified Medical Assistant or nursing license BLS certification required.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum two years of clinical experience; at least one year in a training, mentoring, or coordination capacity preferred. Prior experience in urology, surgical specialty, or ambulatory care preferred.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching; ability to lift and move medical equipment and assist in transferring patients. Outpatient urology clinic and procedural setting; travel between practice locations may be required.

Salary Range

The salary range for the Clinical Lead position is $27.50-$45.00 per hour, depending on credentials, licensure, experience, and qualifications. Anticipated pay ranges include:

  • MA: $27.50-$28.50 per hour
  • LPN: $34.00-$39.00 per hour
  • RN: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
