Job summary

Healthcare for the Homeless - Houston is seeking a board-certified Family or Internal Medicine physician to lead clinical programs and provide medical leadership across service sites. You will supervise mid-level providers and ensure high-quality, trauma-informed care for underserved patients.

Qualifications

• Board certification in Family or Internal Medicine.
• At least 2 years of ambulatory care experience.
• At least 2 years of experience working with underserved populations.
• Training or experience in healthcare administration or public health preferred.
• Experience with programmatic evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provides medical leadership for assigned clinical programs.
• Collaborates with the Manager of Integrated Care and other leaders to ensure effective, compliant medical workflows.
• Monitors and refines clinical workflows, treatment protocols, and documentation standards to improve care quality and outcomes.
• Supports adoption of new clinical tools and technologies that enhance diagnosis, treatment, and patient engagement.
• Oversees healthcare quality initiatives, ensuring adherence to guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Chairs or co-chairs the Quality Management Committee and drives CQI projects.
• Supports FTCA, HRSA, and HIPAA compliance efforts related to medical care delivery.
• Translates clinical strategic goals into actionable plans at program and clinic level.
• Provides direct clinical care and maintains a patient panel with high-quality, trauma-informed care.
