UK King’s Daughters in Russell, Kentucky, is seeking a Medical Assistant III to provide advanced clinical and administrative support in a part-time capacity within the Urgent Care Float Pool. The role collaborates with physicians and staff to streamline patient flow, ensure accurate documentation, and support quality patient care.

Responsibilities include assisting with examinations, administering medications, supervising staff, and contributing to process improvements and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and vocational/technical training in a designated technical area.
• 5-7 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area.
• Voluntary certifications such as CMA/RMA/NCMA/BLS are preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily clinical operations and patient flow.
• Prepare patients, obtain vital signs, document information accurately.
• Administer medications and perform clinical procedures within scope.
• Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures.
• Support care coordination through effective communication with patients and teams.
• Mentor staff and provide feedback to promote competency and teamwork.
• Monitor supplies and equipment; ensure readiness.
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
