Job summary

UC Irvine School of Law invites applications for a full‑time clinical faculty position, with security of employment or potential for security of employment, to begin on July 1, 2027. The base salary range is $196,000-$297,600, with off‑scale salaries offered to meet competitive conditions.

The candidate will develop a new Core Clinic or co‑teach in an existing one and assist in planning and developing the overall clinical program.

Qualifications

• Applicants must hold a J.D. from an ABA‑accredited school and be licensed to practice law in California by the end of their first year of employment.
• At least five years of practice experience and two years of clinical teaching experience are strongly preferred, but all applicants must have demonstrated potential for outstanding teaching achievements.

Responsibilities

• The candidate will create a new Core Clinic or co‑teach in an existing Core Clinic and assist in planning and development of the overall clinical program.
• Appointment, merit, and promotion in the Clinical Professor of Law series require outstanding and externally recognized contributions in research/creative activity in pedagogy and/or the discipline.
