The work schedule for this position is PRN.

Job Responsibilities:

• Determine specimen acceptability for testing based on established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex procedures per departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Replenish testing supplies as needed.
• Assist with specimen processing when required.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological sciences, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory requirements (CLIA & State).
• Florida Medical Technologist (MT) license.
• ASCP, AMT, or ABB certification.
• Previous clinical lab testing experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory info systems is a plus.
• High attention to detail, strong communication, and organizational skills.
• Pass a color vision test.
• Flexibility to work overtime or different shifts as needed.
