Clinical Laboratory Technologist Part Time -Eve Core Lab

Position Summary

At Stony Brook Medicine, a Clinical Laboratory Technologist/Technician is a valuable team member providing clinical services to our patient population. They maintain knowledge of safe laboratory practices endorsed by the New York State Department of Health and OSHA, conducting themselves to ensure safety for all lab personnel. Qualified candidates will demonstrate superior patient care, excellent communication skills, and uphold our high standards of excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical analyses in the Department of Laboratories.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments following established protocols.
  • Adhere to quality control policies and procedures.
  • Proficiently use computer protocols as assigned.
  • Follow all hospital and departmental policies.
  • Perform high complexity coagulation and chemistry testing manually and automatically.
  • Handle assays with multiple dilutions requiring precise technique.
  • Assist in implementing and validating new procedures.
  • Engage in continuing education, including conferences and offsite training.
  • Interact professionally with staff, physicians, and support personnel.
  • Perform other clinical duties as assigned.
  • Work every other weekend and observe designated holidays and days off.
Qualifications

Required:

  • NY State licensure or eligibility as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist with 0-2 years relevant experience.
  • NY State licensure or eligibility with 3-5 years relevant experience.
  • NY State licensure or eligibility with at least 6 years relevant experience.

Preferred:

  • Background in Hematology and Chemistry, ASCP Certification, Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or related sciences, Master’s Degree preferred.

Salary Range

$87,394 - $110,838 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Additional pay includes location pay, shift differentials, and geographic pay.
