Job summary

Shepherd Center is seeking a Medical Technologist to execute, interpret, and analyze laboratory tests across Chemistry, Microbiology, Hematology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis. The role supports multiple departments, maintains equipment, and ensures quality control and timely reporting of results.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hospital-based laboratory experience, ASCP/AMT/NCA/AAB certification eligibility, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology from an accredited program.
• Completion of a recognized course of training in medical technology (CHEA/USDE or equivalent) or a bachelor's in chemical/physical/biological sciences with lab experience.
• ASCP/AMT/NCA/AAB certification or eligible to obtain within 18 months from hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing in Chemistry, Microbiology, Hematology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis.
• Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Communicates effectively with staff regarding patient care and specimen issues.
• Performs quality control and proficiency testing; ensures accurate test results.
• Ensures compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
