Job summary

Scion Staffing has a Clinical Laboratory Technologist opportunity in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. This temp-to-hire, full-time, onsite role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in a CLIA-certified molecular diagnostics lab dedicated to accurate, timely patient results.

The successful candidate will perform DNA extraction, PCR testing, QC activities, reagent preparation, and maintain documentation while collaborating with a collaborative team focused on precision and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• MLT or MT certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in Biology or related life sciences preferred.
• Clinical laboratory experience, preferably in molecular diagnostics.
• Experience with laboratory information systems and clinical data entry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform accessioning, DNA extraction, PCR, post-PCR, reagent preparation per SOPs.
• Verify patient specimens and maintain documentation and LIS.
• Perform qualitative/quantitative assay reviews within QC programs and regulatory initiatives.
• Maintain CLIA, CAP, HIPAA and lab safety compliance.
• Assist with troubleshooting, training, meetings, and special projects.
• Support lab maintenance, equipment monitoring, and daily housekeeping.

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Clinical Laboratory Technologist for an innovative molecular diagnostics laboratory in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. This is a Temp to Hire, full-time, onsite opportunity working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Join a collaborative laboratory team performing high-complexity molecular diagnostic testing in a CLIA-certified environment dedicated to delivering accurate, timely results that support quality patient care.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Clinical Laboratory Technologist will perform laboratory testing across multiple areas of a high-complexity molecular diagnostics laboratory, including specimen accessioning, DNA extraction, PCR testing, post-PCR processing, reagent production, and quality control activities. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and integrity of diagnostic testing while maintaining compliance with CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, and established laboratory standards. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform specimen accessioning, DNA extraction, PCR testing, post-PCR processing, reagent preparation, and other molecular laboratory procedures in accordance with established standard operating procedures.
• Verify patient specimens, identify discrepancies, and accurately maintain laboratory documentation and laboratory information systems.
• Perform qualitative and quantitative assay reviews while participating in laboratory quality control programs and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, laboratory safety standards, and established laboratory procedures.
• Participate in troubleshooting, peer training, laboratory meetings, research initiatives, and special projects while supporting continuous process improvement.
• Assist with laboratory maintenance, equipment monitoring, on-call rotation, and daily laboratory housekeeping responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• MLT or MT certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related life sciences field preferred.
• Clinical laboratory experience, preferably within a molecular diagnostics laboratory.
• Experience with laboratory information systems and clinical data entry preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• ASCP certification preferred.
