The Clinical Research Technician supports clinical research studies by working closely with floor technicians and phlebotomists to collect, organize, and process pharmacokinetic (PK) samples in a small laboratory adjacent to the clinic floor. This role focuses on blood and urine sample handling for healthy study participants in an overnight Phase I clinical research environment and helps ensure that all procedures are carried out accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with study protocols.
This position is based in a large clinical research unit in Austin, TX, with more than 100 beds and a Phase I model focused on healthy subjects participating in overnight stays. The environment is often described as a 'feed and bleed' setting, where scheduled meals and frequent blood draws are integral to study protocols. The Clinical Research Technician primarily works in a small laboratory just off the clinic floor, in the PK Processing Area, handling blood and urine samples and supporting related procedures. Shifts include an early first shift (06:00–14:00), a standard first shift (08:00–16:00), and a second shift (14:00–22:00), with flexibility requested to help cover occasional weekend staffing as part of a rotation that does not push total hours over 40 per week. The work involves standing, moving between the clinic and lab, and using standard laboratory equipment such as pipettes and centrifuges. The facility maintains a clean, organized, and professional atmosphere, with appropriate clinical and laboratory attire required to support safety, hygiene, and compliance with research standards.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
