Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Team Lead- Chemistry to join our team at Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital - St. Joseph in Milwaukee, WI.

This role supports the chemistry department with supervision, instrumentation oversight, and quality control to ensure accurate patient results. The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in chemical or biological science and 2+ years of MLT/MLS experience, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in chemical or biological science required.
• 2+ years of experience as MLT/MLS.
• Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to pass a color blindness test.

Responsabilités

LabCorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Team Lead- Chemistry to join our team at Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital - St. Joseph in Milwaukee, WI

Work Schedule:

1st shift; 6:00AM – 2:30PM weekdays with every other weekend rotation and holiday rotation. Start/end time may change at the request of the business.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in the supervision of the day to day operations of the chemistry department
• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Ensure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality Control
• Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when neededMaintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
• Help lead the team in their daily processes and procedures
• Encourage process improvements and best practices
• Perform administrative duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology
• 2 or more years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLS)

Preferred Qualifications

• 4 or more years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLS)
• 1 or more years of experience as an MLT/MLS in clinical chemistry
• 1 or more years of experience supervising or leading a team

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement
• Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
• Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
• High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
