Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science.
• Licensed California CLS (Generalist/Toxicologist/Chemist) under BPC.
• State licensing required to perform tests.

Responsibilities

• Carry out approved tests to comply with CA and CLIA requirements.
• Perform tests according to standard procedures and review results.
• Safely handle hazardous materials and report incidents.
• Apply techniques to verify accuracy of test results.
• Review calibration and QC results and take corrective actions.
• Investigate inconsistent results and inform appropriate group.
• Monitor QC performance and trends; recommend actions.
• Clean and maintain equipment and calibrate as required.
• Maintain calibration, QC, equipment, specimens and certification docs.
• Assist investigations into specimen handling and testing quality incidents.
• Assist SOP development and approval.
• Provide supervision and training for unlicensed testing personnel.
• Attend seminars to maintain California CLS licensure.
• Follow new and revised lab procedures.
