Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health seeks a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform complex lab tests and deliver accurate results for patient care. You will operate and validate equipment, participate in quality control, educate staff, and help maintain accreditation standards (CAP/JCAHO) across the department.

This role offers a $7,500 sign-on bonus for offers accepted by Sept 30, 2026, with terms applying.

Qualifications

• Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (BSCLS) from an accredited program OR Bachelor’s in Biological Science plus NAACLS-accredited CLS/MT certificate
• Licensure/Certification: MT/MLS certification by ASCP or CLS by NCA/AMT or equivalent ASCP certification, within 6 months of graduation

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests according to established procedures.
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and validate lab equipment.
• Perform quality control, document QA guidelines.
• Assist in educating and training laboratory personnel, students, and residents.
• Maintain supplies and inventory; assist with specimen collection when applicable.
