Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) in Hazard, KY seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) to perform manual and automated laboratory tests in the ARH Reference Laboratory, ensuring accurate clinical information for diagnosis and patient care.

The role includes specimen processing, LIS data entry, quality control, equipment maintenance, and supervisory duties. A 4-year MT/CLS degree and certification are required or expected within 12 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s-level Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist education required or equivalent.
• Certification as MT/CLS preferred; must be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens for testing.
• Register patients and enter orders in the LIS; determine medical necessity and direct reports.
• Perform CLIA Waived, Moderate and High complexity testing and report results after training.
• Maintain clean, stocked work area and proper documentation.
• conduct quality assurance and monitor instrument performance and calibrations.
