Job summary

The candidate should hold a relevant degree and ASCP eligibility or certification, with certification within one year if hired after 01/19/2025.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent in Medical Technology/MLS/CLS or related field; ASCP eligibility or certification desirable.
• License/Certification and Regulatory Agency requirements applicable to MLS/MT positions.
• General MLS/MT (ASCP) certification or eligibility.
• Categorical ASCP BB/C/H/M certification or eligibility.
• If hired after 2025-01-19, must obtain ASCP certification within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs test procedures in the clinical laboratory and conveys results to physician or designee for diagnosis and treatment.
• Performs pre-analytic, analytic, post-analytic laboratory duties per SOPs, including specimen handling, testing, reporting, and quality control.
• Maintains instrument integrity, verifies reagents, and ensures adequate supplies and inventories.
• Interpretation of results, reflex testing, and notification of critical values per protocol.
• Participates in training, SOP updates, and quality improvement initiatives.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science/Clinical Laboratory Science/Chemistry/Biology or Allied Health

ASCP certification eligibility

MLS/MT certification or eligible

ASCP BB/C/H/M certification or eligible

ASCP certification within 1 year if hired after 2025-01-19
