Job summary

Cook Children's Medical Center in Prosper, TX is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to perform clinical testing in the Laboratory-Pathology department. The MLS will ensure test systems are functioning properly, resolve technical issues, and report accurate patient results, while rotating shifts and on-call as needed to meet laboratory goals.

Qualified candidates hold a NAACLS-approved MLS degree, a relevant bachelor's degree, and at least six months of clinical laboratory experience;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science with NAACLS program.
• Minimum six months of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• Certification by ASCP or equivalent; registry eligible.
• Registry eligible candidates may perform waived or moderate complexity testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing in assigned specialty/subspecialty.
• Ensure test systems function properly and report patient results.
• Staff hours, rotate on-call as required.
• Adhere to CCMC and CMS compliance plans.
