Qualifications

• Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license.
• Two years of recent experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in a clinical laboratory setting.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and high-complexity laboratory testing in compliance with CLIA, OSHA, PPFA, Title X, and state regulations.
• Execute all phases of clinical testing—pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical.
• Conduct molecular assays, including DNA amplification and other specialty tests as needed.
• Verify proper labeling of specimens and match to worklists.
• Enter, verify, and release results in the LIS; report to health centers and public health agencies.
• Maintain documentation for QA/QC and proficiency testing per regulatory standards.
• Perform instrument maintenance and cleaning; document activities per SOPs.
• Assist in inventory management and communicate restocking needs to leadership.
• Respond to inquiries, look up test results, and refer as appropriate.
• Follow corrective action protocols for specimen handling and test performance issues.
• Support pre- and post-analytical workflows, including receiving and routing specimens.
• Collaborate with Senior Manager to orient and train new laboratory assistants.
