Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in medical technology or a life science is required.
• 1+ year to 2 years of hands-on testing in a clinical lab with CA CLS license.
• California license required; knowledge of regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Determine suitability of specimens based on established criteria for acceptance.
• Perform specimen processing and QC testing on reagents and samples.
• Check work of unlicensed lab technicians.
• Prepare laboratory reagents and perform quality control testing.
• Perform specialized manual and automated testing on clinical specimens.
• Use laboratory information system to record QC and environmental test results.
• Maintain instruments with daily maintenance, calibration and checks.
• Ensure adequate levels of supplies and equipment.
• Produce accurate, high-quality work within expected timeframes.
• Analyze data from high complexity testing and submit preliminary reports.
• Review SOPs and recommend process improvements.
• Comply with SHC policies on health, safety, privacy and security.
