Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform quantitative and qualitative laboratory determinations, procure specimens, compute results, and submit reports within an acute care setting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree with California CLS licensure and a minimum of one year of hospital laboratory experience. ASCP certification is recommended and licensure must be held in California.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with California CLS licensure.
• Minimum one year recent experience in an approved hospital laboratory.
• American Society of Clinical Pathology certification recommended; CA license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of laboratory duties in an acute care setting.
• Plan and organize diagnostic testing procedures on patient specimens.
• Maintain concise and complete records and test reports.
• Establish and maintain relationships with physicians, patients and staff.
• Handle absentee replacement on short notice.
• Work occasional irregular hours.
• Manage emergencies or crises and respond to inquiries.
• Stay current with developments in laboratory testing.
• Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
