Job summary

Methodist Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist II to perform complex medical tests, ensure quality and accuracy, and support the lab’s daily operations. You will manage controls, document data, and troubleshoot instrumentation while upholding compliance and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 6 years of clinical lab experience; or Associate degree with 2+ years in clinical lab; or Bachelor’s degree with clinical lab experience preferred.
• License/certification options include MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), CLT(NCA), MLT(ASCP), or MLT(AMT); certification waived for 5 years of lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen processing and testing independently for moderate and high complexity testing.
• Analyzes test results with knowledge of pathological processes and disease states.
• Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshoots and takes corrective action as needed.
• Performs quality control, runs controls, evaluates data and documents results.
• Reviews or updates departmental procedures or policies.
• Completes competency checklist and pursues cross-training to support staffing needs.
