Clinical Laboratory Scientist II, Lab Admin General - PRN

This job involves performing routine and complex laboratory procedures, including specimen processing, testing, calculating, and reporting results. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining laboratory instruments, assisting in developing new procedures, and possibly performing phlebotomy and other patient-related tasks.

Key responsibilities:

1. Perform all routine and complex laboratory procedures assigned to the section.
2. Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment, notifying Bio-med for repairs when needed.
3. Ensure adherence to quality control protocols and utilize the Laboratory Information System effectively.
4. Process patient specimens with attention to minimal pediatric volumes when applicable.
5. Participate in evaluating and updating testing procedures and protocols.
6. Provide patient care responsibilities tailored to the population served, respecting physical, psychosocial, cultural, and developmental needs.
7. Complete all compliance, regulatory, and policy requirements.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant science or medical technology field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience meeting CLIA regulations.
2. No experience required for new graduates from accredited programs; one year of clinical lab experience preferred.
3. Certification for MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT from recognized agencies is required; state licensure if applicable.
