As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist II, you will perform complex medical laboratory tests for diagnosis and treatment of diseases. You will analyze and ensure the accuracy of test results, maintain complex instruments, and monitor quality control and assurance programs.

Responsibilities:

• Perform specimen processing and testing independently, including moderate and high complexity tests.
• Analyze test results, demonstrating knowledge of pathological processes and correlating disease states with test outcomes.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, troubleshoot issues, and take corrective actions.
• Practice proactive problem-solving, including identifying issues and seeking guidance when necessary.
• Conduct quality control procedures, evaluate data, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
• Communicate QC information to supervisors or lead technicians.
• Review, write, or modify departmental procedures or policies.
• Complete competency checklists and meet skill development timelines.
• Take responsibility for personal development, including cross-training to support flexible staffing.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent with 15 years of clinical lab experience, OR
• Associate’s Degree with at least 2 years of clinical lab experience, OR
• Bachelor’s Degree with relevant clinical lab experience.

Minimum licensing and certification requirements include one of the following: MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), CLT(NCA), MLT(ASCP), or MLT(AMT). Certification is waived for candidates with 5 years of lab experience.
