Job summary

Prime Healthcare seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist II (Med Tech) for per diem coverage at Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, TX. The CLS II performs tests across Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, and related disciplines, interpreting results and maintaining quality controls.

Requires ASCP certification and 2+ years hospital lab experience. BS in a health science field and state licensure are required where applicable; benefits include medical insurance and 401K.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification required or preferred.
• Minimum two years of hospital laboratory work experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution or as required by CLIA (42 CFR 493.1423).
• Current and valid state license if required by the state.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids to aid diagnosis, including routine and specialized tests.
• Interpret lab results and identify abnormalities to assist doctors in patient care decisions.
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures and calibrate/maintain instruments as needed.
• Maintain detailed records and input data into the laboratory information system.

We are seeking aClinicalLaboratoryScientist II,also referred to as a Medical Technologist (Med Tech). The Clinical Lab Scientist II (CLS II) requires a blend of technicalexpertise, analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. They playan important rolein the diagnostic process, contributing significantly to patient care and treatment.This position is on a per diem basis, meaningPD/PRNas needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids to aid in the diagnosis of diseases and conditions, this may include routine tests as well as specialized tests

• Interpret lab test results andidentifyany abnormalities, ensure the accuracy and reliability of these results toassistdoctors in making informed decisions about patient care

• Implement and monitor quality control procedures tomaintainhigh standardsin laboratory testing, you may also calibrate andmaintainlaboratory instruments and equipment

• Keepaccurateand detailed records of all laboratory tests performed and their results, input data into our laboratory information systems

• Ensure all laboratory operationscomply withhospital policies, governmental regulations, and accreditation requirements

• Perform a wide variety of laboratory procedures requiring independent judgment using both manual and automated methods in Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, and any other discipline as introduced into the laboratory
