Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I (Med Tech) at Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, TX. This full-time on-site position requires a blend of technical expertise and teamwork within the hospital lab, supporting diagnostic processes and patient care.

The CLS I will perform tests, interpret results, and participate in quality control while maintaining accurate records and compliance with CLIA and hospital policies. Night shift flexibility is noted in the posting.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification preferred.
• One year hospital laboratory work experience preferred, but not required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1423).
• Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids to aid in the diagnosis of diseases and conditions, this may include routine tests as well as specialized tests.
• Interpret lab test results and identify any abnormalities, ensure the accuracy and reliability of these results to assist doctors in making informed decisions about patient care
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain high standards in laboratory testing, you may also calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
• Keep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory tests performed and their results, input data into our laboratory information systems
• Ensure all laboratory operations comply with hospital policies, governmental regulations, and accreditation requirements
