Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to process specimens and perform high/moderate complexity testing under supervision. The role ensures regulatory compliance, accuracy of results, and collaboration with multiple teams to support patient care and efficient workflows.

Responsibilities include specimen evaluation, SOP-guided testing, troubleshooting, equipment operation, and quality control.

Qualifications

• Must meet CLIA personnel requirements for High Complexity testing.
• One year healthcare or lab related experience preferred.
• ASCP, AMT or defined equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens and perform high/moderate complexity testing.
• Troubleshoot issues and report accurate results.
• Maintain quality control and regulatory compliance.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment per SOPs.
• Document instrument calibrations and maintenance.
• Participate in proficiency testing and ensure proper sample handling.
• Manage inventory and check supply expiration dates.
• Assist with training of team members and students.
• Adhere to safety procedures of Atlantic Health and department.
