Job summary

BayCare Health System seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist Coordinator to lead daily laboratory operations at Bartow Regional Medical Center. This onsite role focuses on high-quality diagnostic services, regulatory compliance, and team development.

You will oversee scheduling, QA/QC, and staff education while ensuring implementation of policies and proficiency testing. A Florida CLS license and 4 years of clinical lab experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science or related Clinical Science field.
• Minimum 4 years of clinical laboratory experience.
• State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead daily laboratory operations, including scheduling and supervision.
• Prioritize, delegate, and oversee all phases of the laboratory process.
• Ensure adherence to laboratory policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Oversee quality assurance and quality management programs and address deviations.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and system-wide requirements, including proficiency testing.
• Lead staff education, training and competency validation.
• Serve as a mentor and resource for laboratory team members.
• Assist with data collection and monitoring to support performance goals.
• Support operational leadership in the absence of a manager or supervisor.

Shift: Days | 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Schedule: Fulltime | Onsite

Weekend Work: Occasional Weekends

Role Overview

As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist Coordinator, you will lead daily laboratory operations while ensuring high-quality diagnostic services, regulatory compliance and team development.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinating and leading daily laboratory operations, including scheduling and supervisory responsibilities
• Prioritizing, delegating, and overseeing all phases of the laboratory process
• Ensuring adherence to all laboratory policies, procedures, and quality standards
• Overseeing quality assurance and quality management programs and addressing process deviations
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and system-wide requirements, including proficiency testing
• Leading staff education, training, and competency validation
• Serving as a mentor, trainer, and resource for laboratory team members
• Assisting with data collection and monitoring to support laboratory performance goals
• Supporting operational leadership responsibilities in the absence of a manager or supervisor

Experience
