Job summary

KA Recruiting Inc. is assisting a healthcare organization outside of Redding, CA to hire an experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist. This full-time role offers 4 x 10-hour shifts (Mon–Thu, 2:00 PM–12:30 AM) with starting pay at $50/hour plus benefits.

You will work across Hematology, Transfusion Service/Serology, Chemistry, Microbiology and Urinalysis, performing instrumentation maintenance and a strong bench microbiology focus.

Qualifications

• Must hold California CLS license.
• Graduate of accredited CLS program with internship.
• Minimum 5 years of healthcare experience.
• Strong microbiology experience: Gram stains, rapid strep, cultures, ID and susceptibility testing.
• Comfortable performing QC and troubleshooting across multiple lab departments.
• Ability to communicate STAT and urgent values to care providers.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on laboratory instrumentation.
• Work across Hematology, Transfusion Service/Serology, Chemistry, Microbiology & Urinalysis.
• Perform bench microbiology including cultures, organism identification and susceptibility testing.
• Communicate STAT, urgent and critical values to care providers.

What We're Looking For

• California CLS license required
• Graduate of an accredited CLS program with internship
• 5+ years of progressive healthcare experience
• Strong microbiology experience, including:
  • Gram stains and rapid strep testing
  • Anaerobic and routine culture setup
  • Positive blood culture processing
  • Plate reading and sub-culturing
  • Organism identification and susceptibility testing
• Comfortable performing QC and troubleshooting across multiple laboratory departments
