Job summary

Machaon Diagnostics, Inc. in Berkeley, CA is seeking a full-time Clinical Laboratory Scientist to independently perform coagulation and related assays in a fast-paced clinical laboratory.

You will contribute to assay development, ensure adherence to CAP guidelines, maintain quality control, and communicate findings clearly to a multidisciplinary team supporting patient care. Must hold a current California CLS license and be comfortable with occasional weekend shifts; laboratory work is performed

Responsibilities

• Independently perform clinical testing (e.g., coagulation assays, platelet aggregation, ELISAs) per SOPs.
• Demonstrate problem-solving and analytical abilities to ensure accurate results.
• Assist in assay development and document control; design/execute validation studies per CAP guidelines.
• Adhere to lab policies on procedures, QC, QA, and safety.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Who We Are:

Machaon Diagnostics, Inc. is an independent Clinical Reference Laboratory and Contract

Research Organization/Clinical Trials Services founded in 2003 in Oakland, California. We

specialize in coagulation and thrombosis, complement-mediated diseases, kidney disease, and

rare disease genetics. Our mission is to save more lives with lab testing.

The laboratory is located on University Avenue in Berkeley, CA, in a fun neighborhood and just

down the street from the University of California, Berkeley.

Education and Credentials:

Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license required.

Job Responsibilities:

• Independently perform clinical testing (e.g., coagulation assays, platelet aggregation, ELISAs) in accordance with established standard operating procedures.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills and analytical abilities to successfully perform laboratory testing.
• Assist in new clinical assay development and/or document control reviews, as required. Design and execute clinical validation studies to assess technical test performance in accordance with CAP guidelines.
• Adhere to established lab policies in areas of procedures, quality control, quality assurance, and safety.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• Must work effectively with an interdisciplinary team of scientists, physicians, lab technologists and be solutions oriented.
