The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for evaluating, performing, interpreting, and validating the accuracy and validity of test results. Demonstrates a progression of clinical knowledge and experience by performing testing procedures on various biological specimens using manual or automated methods. Responsibilities include routine testing, quality control, routine maintenance of instrumentation, and troubleshooting, applying innovative procedures and problem solving.
Non-certified applicants who meet eligibility requirements for certification may be appointed temporarily for up to 2 years at the entry level and may not be promoted or converted until certification is obtained under 38 U.S.C. § 7405(c)(2). This appointment cannot be extended.

Work schedule is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Compensation includes a competitive salary, paid time off, parental leave, childcare subsidies, retirement benefits, and federal insurance options. Telework is not available, and this is not a virtual position.
