MedStar Health in Olney, MD seeks a Laboratory Operations leader to manage the overall operations and administrative functions of the laboratory, providing leadership, direction, and support to all laboratory associates to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. Partners with Technical Specialists and Quality/Accreditation leadership to align priorities and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, 3–4 years of clinical lab

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or closely related field required.
• 3–4 years of clinical laboratory experience in core lab, point of care, or blood bank.
• 1–2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• ASCP – Medical Laboratory Scientist certification highly preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Reviews operational and performance data to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Provides oversight for departmental programs (Safety, Performance Improvement, Quality, Accreditation).
• Counsels associates and collaborates with leadership to utilize coaching processes.
• Manages staffing, budgeting, and procurement to support operations.
• Oversees documentation systems, records management, and reporting to maintain regulatory readiness.
• Leads quality assurance and regulatory compliance initiatives to ensure patient care quality.
