Qualifications

• MD or DO with active medical license.
• Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology or Clinical Pathology (or both).
• 5+ years of molecular pathology and/or clinical laboratory leadership experience.
• Strong expertise in genomic medicine and NGS technologies; CLIA experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical oversight across all phases of clinical molecular testing, including specimen review and result interpretation.
• Serve as the laboratory's medical and scientific leader, ensuring CLIA, CAP compliance.
• Interpret complex genomic and molecular pathology data and communicate findings to clinicians.
• Partner with laboratory leadership to drive operational excellence, quality initiatives, and growth.
• Evaluate and implement emerging molecular diagnostic technologies, including NGS applications.
• Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, accreditation bodies, and clinical stakeholders.
• Contribute to expansion of advanced molecular diagnostic testing services.

A leading precision medicine and molecular diagnostics organization is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Medical Director to provide medical and operational leadership for a high-complexity, CLIA-certified molecular pathology laboratory.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical oversight across all phases of clinical molecular testing, including specimen review, result interpretation, report sign-out, and physician consultation
• Serve as the laboratory's medical and scientific leader, ensuring compliance with CLIA, CAP, and other applicable regulatory requirements
• Interpret complex genomic and molecular pathology data and communicate findings to clinicians and healthcare providers
• Partner with laboratory leadership to drive operational excellence, quality initiatives, and strategic growth plans
• Evaluate and implement emerging molecular diagnostic technologies, including next-generation sequencing (NGS) applications
• Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, accreditation bodies, and clinical stakeholders
• Contribute to the expansion and evolution of advanced molecular diagnostic testing services

Qualifications

• MD or DO with an active medical license
• Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or both
• 5+ years of molecular pathology and/or clinical laboratory leadership experience
• Strong expertise in genomic medicine, molecular diagnostics, and NGS technologies
• Prior experience in a CLIA-certified laboratory environment required
• NYSDOH Laboratory Director qualification or eligibility is highly desirable
