Methodist Hospital Westover Hills is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant with Phlebotomy Experience to join our Laboratory Department. This PRN, non-exempt position involves processing specimens, performing routine laboratory tests, setting up instruments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The role reports to the Lab Director and supervisors, supporting high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

1. Processing specimens, preparing blood smears and slides, centrifuging specimens, streaking microbiology plates, and preparing specimens for transport.
2. Understanding laboratory methods and disease processes, performing specimen processing and moderate complexity testing independently.
3. Setting up instruments, performing basic maintenance, and conducting quality control and assurance activities.
4. Handling clerical duties such as communication, data entry, filing, and inventory management.
5. Performing phlebotomy, point-of-care, and waived testing as needed.
6. Adhering to laboratory regulatory standards.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Experience in a clinical laboratory preferred.
