Qualifications

• Florida State License is required for licensure and renewal.
• Bachelor's degree in science or related field preferred.
• National Certification (ASCP) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests for clinical diagnosis within regulatory guidelines.
• Maintains temperatures and performs quality control on instrumentation and reagents.
• Performs preventive maintenance, calibrations, and cleanliness of instruments.
• Participates in proficiency testing and reports results promptly.
• Teaches procedures to students and staff rotations.
• Reports laboratory results accurately within required turnaround times.
• Maintains records for quality control and quality improvement.
• Follows HIPAA and protects patient confidentiality.
• Interprets, analyzes, and relays test results to appropriate personnel.
• Reviews processes to ensure compliance with FDA, CAP, DNV, AHCA, CMS, AABB.
