Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology is required.
• Current Florida licensure in all five clinical areas (Microbiology, Serology/Immunology, Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Immunohematology) is required.
• MLT ASCP or AMT Generalist certification preferred.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Has knowledge of laboratory equipment and can program and process per department policies and manufacturer safety guidelines.
• Detects spurious or abnormal results and follows steps to determine if recollection is needed.
• Investigates and resolves instrument codes to ensure accurate patient test results.
• Maintains competency in all assigned laboratory areas.
• Performs quality control documentation and corrective actions accurately.
