Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (MT), MLS, or CLS, or related field with NAACLS-cert.
• Demonstrated proficiency in medical laboratory techniques.
• Strong understanding of blood bank theory and chemistry in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, and process specimens safely and accurately.
• Perform clinical testing with automated, semi-automated, and manual methods.
• Execute QC/QA to ensure accurate test reporting.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments daily/weekly/monthly.
• Follow standard precautions at all times.
• Participate in external quality controls (CAP proficiencies).
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation.
• Demonstrate phlebotomy competency across all age groups.
• Validate and verify equipment; correlate results.
• Communicate critical values clearly to providers and nurses.
• Work across Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology/PCR, Urinalysis, and Receiving/Processing sections.
• Provide operational support to optimize workflow.
• Work weekends, nights, and holidays; on-call capability.
