Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Clinical Lab Professional for Ascension Sacred Heart Freestanding Emergency Department in Perdido, FL. This casual/per diem role involves 3rd shift hours, and requires readiness to work as needed and vary start/end times.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in a chemical/biological science or Medical Technology, plus 1+ year of lab testing experience or an MLS. A Florida Technologist license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• Florida State Technologist License.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and PPE.
