Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join our Richmond, VA facility. The role requires evaluating specimens, performing routine and advanced testing, and ensuring accurate results to support patient care.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm. Candidates should have a relevant science degree and at least 1 year of lab experience or an MLS. ASCP/AMT certification is preferred, with strong computer and team skills emphasized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science or medical technology.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical lab testing experience or MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
