Job summary

The Medical Lab Technologist II at Women & Infants Hospital performs routine and special tests according to written protocols to determine test results that will assist in diagnosing and treating patients.

They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, collect and prepare specimens, perform tests and calculations, report results, and participate in quality testing and student mentorship within Care New England Health System.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates competency, individually and as part of the multidisciplinary team, in performing clinical care and assessment of all patient populations.
• Collects, accepts, and prepares clinical specimens for analysis and storage.
• Performs all testing and related calculations.
• Evaluates and reports results.
• Performs established procedures for quality testing.
• Exhibits professional interpersonal skills.
• Provides instructions to MT students and other medical personnel.
• Participates in activities/in-services to maintain professional and departmental requirements.
