Job summary

LabCorp seeks a Technologist to join our team in Tampa, FL. The schedule is Tuesday–Saturday, 8 am to 4:30 pm. You will perform routine and complex laboratory procedures, monitor instruments, and ensure accurate, timely results to support patient care.

Minimum qualifications include a BS in a chemical/biological science or Medical Technology and a Chemistry MT FL license; ASCP/AMT certification is preferred. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science or medical technology is required.
• FL Chemistry MT license is required for the state.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.

Education
